Ebal , ABR, Bryan Windle, 1/28/2022 An amulet that was recently recovered from the site known as Joshua’s Altar on Mt. Ebal appears to contain the Hebrew letter aleph, along with a mark resembling a lotus flower. The amulet, was discovered during the Mt. Ebal Dump Salvage project conducted by Associates for Biblical Research under the direction of Dr. Scott Stripling in December 2019 - January 2020.     < Back Dr. Brian Peterson TBS Adjunct Professor, Shiloh Square Supervisor Journeyman's License in Carpentry (1987), Moncton Technical Training School Bachelor of Bible (2001), Zion Bible College Master of Theological Studies (2003), Beeson Divinity School Master of Arts in Old Testament (2004), Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary Ph.D. in Old Testament Studies (2009), Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto. Thesis, "Ezekiel in Context: Ezekiel’s Message Understood in its Historical Setting of Covenant Curses and Ancient Near Eastern Mythological Motifs." Dr. Peterson is an Associate Professor of Old Testament and Hebrew at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, where he has taught for seven years. Prior to coming to Lee, Dr. Peterson taught at Prairie Bible College in Alberta, Canada and for a short period in the Gambia West, Africa. He did his PhD in Hebrew Bible at Wycliffe College in Toronto, Canada. His dissertation focused on understanding the book of Ezekiel in its ancient Near Eastern context. In 2013 they purchased a plot of land just east of the capital city of Ouagadougou where they began sharing the Good News and have grown their church to over 100 partitioners and it is still growing. While studying Ancient Greek and Hebrew in Israel, Paul met Dr. Stripling. With his passion to learn more, Pastor Paul enrolled at TBS in 2022 and is pursuing a Master of Arts in Biblical History and Archaeology. As an international student in New Delhi, India, Manasseh works as a social worker in the juvenile prison. He is the youngest of four children and along with a sister is the caretaker to their mother, a retired hospital clerk. Manasseh's father passed on in 2009, but he served the Lord faithfully as a priest in the church and community for 40 years. Manasseh serves The Bible Seminary as the Virtual Liaison for the Student Government Association, where he is extremely active in the student community and diligent in developing relationships within TBS's family. Upon his commencement, Manasseh will become the FIRST biblical archaeologist in India.     MA in Church History and Theology < Back MA in Church History and Theology 48-credit hours The purpose of this program is to offer MACHT students opportunities to study all 66 books of the Bible strategically and comprehensively, learn basic historical, theological, and practical knowledge critical for serving in professional ministry leadership, and experientially explore and practice ministry skills related to in-depth knowledge of church history and theology. Program Objectives To train students in the background and content of all 66 biblical books. To expose students to the major theological concepts and doctrines. To teach students the major personalities and events of church history. To prepare students for success in ministry and/or doctoral studies. Learning Outcomes Graduates of the MACHT program will possess the following competencies: The student will demonstrate a mastery of the background and content of all 66 biblical books through the SFM 500 post- course assessment. The student will demonstrate mastery of major theological concepts and doctrines as evidenced by research papers and post-course assessments in the Theology sequence (THE 501 – 504). The student will demonstrate mastery of the major personalities and events of church history through exams, research assignments, and presentations in THE 510 and/or THE 511. The student will demonstrate a preparation for success in ministry and/or doctoral studies by completing a summative and comprehensive Capstone project (CAP 590). Frequency of Offering At least some courses required for the MACHT program are offered every fall and spring semester on the main campus, and some core courses may also be offered at various remote instructional locations.     Adjunct Professor < Back Previous Next Dr. Matthew Glassman Adjunct Professor Dr. Glassman is an Assistant Professor of Religion at Fairfield University. He has a BGS in Political Science from the University of Kansas, masters degrees in theology and Biblical Studies from Franciscan University and Boston College, and a Ph.D. in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations from Yale University. He has been excavating in Israel and Iraq since 2014.
