The Near East Archaeological Society (NEAS) was founded in 1957. The focus of NEAS is on research in the lands of the Bible, the modern Middle East, with a distinctively evangelical perspective. In other words, the members of NEAS view the Bible as a valuable ancient document providing useful data complimentary to the archaeological record.
