Scripture:“For by grace you have been saved through faith.” — Ephesians 2:8–9
Today’s Faith Lesson comes from Ephesians 2:8–9, a passage that clearly explains how salvation works. It is not something we earn. It is a gift God freely gives.
The Greek word used for grace is charis, which means gift or endowment. Grace is not a reward for good behavior or religious effort. It is something God gives in response to faith. We trust God, confess our sins, and receive what we could never achieve on our own.
This truth was at the heart of the Protestant Reformation. The question was simple but crucial: Are we justified before God by our works, or by a gift of grace? Scripture answers clearly—salvation is a grace gift from God, received through faith alone.
Grace is not only what saves us; it is also what equips us. The same gift that rescues us becomes the strength that enables us to live differently. God’s grace becomes an endowment that allows us to serve others and reflect His love to the world.
This Faith Lesson reminds us to rest in God’s gift, trust Him fully, and live as people shaped by grace.
