Celebrating 2019

JAN: 2019 began with Grace Fellowship in Katy hosting the TBS "World of Jesus" archaeology exhibit, which then moved to Windwood Presbyterian and HBU in Houston, Andrews University in Michigan, and ended the year at Dayspring Bible College and Seminary near Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Paul Nyquist, former President of Moody Bible Institute, also joined the TBS team as Dean of Graduate programs.

FEB: Approximately 200 people enjoyed the TBS 2019 Celebration Banquet at the Omni Hotel Westside in Houston featuring keynote speaker Matt Carter, Pastor of Preaching and Vision at Austin Stone Community Church. Guests also viewed the premiere of Appian Media’s documentary series, Searching for a King, featuring TBS Provost Dr. Scott Stripling.

MAR: Release of the movie, Patterns of Evidence: The Moses Controversy, featuring TBS Professor Dr. Doug Petrovich. Co-hosted the first TBS Egypt Tour with 89 tour participants co-led by Dr. Scott Stripling.

APR: TBS achieved Candidate Status with the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS), a significant accreditation milestone. MAY Record total donor income in excess of $700,000 for the 2018-19 fiscal year end from 157 donors, including 45 first-time donors.

JUN: Release of 16 Shiloh Network News productions by TBS President Dr. K. Lynn Lewis highlighting TBS archaeological work in Israel directed by TBS Provost Dr. Scott Stripling. Approximately 40 TBS staff, faculty, students, families, and friends participated in the May-June tours and archaeological dig.

JUL: Publication of a significant archaeological find (a horned altar) with TBS archaeological students that continues to generate worldwide media attention.

AUG: Celebrated a total of 66 TBS alumni, including 7 new graduates, all serving in churches and ministries throughout Houston areas and beyond.

SEP: Record enrollment of 281 students, including 232 Bible Certificate students and 49 students enrolled in graduate degree courses. Achieved Financial Accreditation with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) and achieved the highest star seal rating available (Platinum) with GuideStar.

OCT: Release of InGrace TV’s four-part TV series, Joshua's Conquest, aired on TBN, and the Bible Land Passages video, Go Now to Shiloh, both featuring Provost Dr. Scot Stripling and TBS students.

NOV: The TRACS Accreditation Commission accepted the Fall 2019 TBS Progress Report, determined that TBS demonstrated compliance with all Recommendations and Suggestions, and approved TBS to begin the Self-Study process toward Accredited Status. We hope to complete final steps over the next few months and to appear before the October 2020 Commission Meeting in Orlando, Florida seeking Accredited Status.
