Tree imagery spans the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. At least 36 types are mentioned in association with creation, beauty, blessings, fruitfulness, healing, provision, resilience, strength, and worship.
Isaiah prophesies about a people “called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified” (Isaiah 61:3). Blessed and favored by God, they rebuild, repair, tend, and are called “priests of the Lord” and “ministers of our God” (61:4-6).
Founders of The Bible Seminary (TBS) were inspired by the story of visionaries who planted a forest of oakscenturies ahead in preparation for the eventual need to replace giant oak beams used in the construction of Oxford’s New College.
Our mission similarly includes planting and nurturing a forest of godly pastors, godly worship leaders, godly youth pastors, godly missionaries, and godly small group leaders. We rejoice in the preparation and provision of ministry leaders whom the Lord has used to positively influence our lives, and we are working heartily and mightily to plant and nurture a forest of new ministry leaders to build future generations of disciples and Christian leaders.
Our “2020 Vision” prospectus outlines various Who? Why? What? Where? How? and How much? in association with TBS and includes personal insights and perspectives from administrators, alumni, donors, faculty, staff, and students, and includes pastors, youth directors, worship leaders, church staff, missionaries, and small group leaders who are part of the TBS family.
We look forward to sharing this prospectus with you personally over the next few months as we invite your partnership in helping plant and nurture a growing forest of godly people trained in all 66 books of the Bible; who glorify God in all they do; and who help provide life, hope, and truth around the world.
